I grew up with the game, going to see the Rochester Amerks and playing Rochester Youth Hockey before I could tie my own skates. It wasn’t long before I strapped on goalie pads and a mask, playing through high school and today in beer leagues.
Now, I work in advertising. But on the weekends, I’m watching hockey, playing hockey, or writing about hockey. My goal is to find stories within the game that make it accessible for those who have never stepped on the ice, cheered through an overtime, or chirped someone in the locker room.
I'm currently working on a project called Borrowing The Cup, a celebration of the 1990-1991 Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup run because I was too young to remember it the first time around.
